Afolabi Oladele

Following a successful career with 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, Afolabi joined African Capital Alliance (ACA) in 1999. Afolabi retired from ACA after 21 years and worked with many of ACA’s investee companies in several value-adding roles along with full responsibility for the firm’s investor relations. He continues to sit on the Boards of ACA’s oil and gas portfolio as well as financial services companies.
His previous oil and gas experience was primarily with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), where he served in various capacities; from being responsible for the country’s refined petroleum products distribution, to managing the nation’s oil and gas production joint ventures as Group General Manager, Operations. He was ultimately appointed Group Executive Director for the Downstream Operations in 1995 with oversight responsibilities for the national refineries and petrochemical plants. While employed with NNPC, he was seconded at different times to OPEC as consultant for the development of energy price models, Mobil USA as Exchange Planning Manager, and Total France as plant operations engineer at La Mede Refinery.
Afolabi, a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and post-graduate certificates in Petroleum Economics and Management.
