Ozoro is an undeveloped field that was discovered with the Ozoro-1 exploration well in 1963. The well was drilled on a northwest to southeast trending simple anticline structure. The well found oil in two reservoir intervals, the H3000 and H3500 reservoir sands.

The Ozoro field was bought onstream and produced oil between 1972 and 1974. Total cumulative production over this period was approximately 1 mmbbls with no reported water production. Ozoro has estimated remaining gross 2C resources of 10 mmbbls oil and 19 bcf of gas, equivalent to approximately 13 mmboe.

Outlook

An appraisal programme is being defined to better understand hydrocarbon type and distribution in the field, with the ultimate objective of working up a suitable field development program (FDP). With existing production processing and export infrastructure on the block the opportunity exists to rapidly and cost effectively monetise any future incremental development projects or discoveries.
